Gregory Moore

Gregory Moore, 71, was born Tuesday, October 9, 1951, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and departed this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Atrium Health Medical facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born to his loving parents Tommie, Sr & Idell Booth-Moore.  He was the fifth child born from their union. Be it Saginaw, Benton Harbor, or Charlotte, Gregory loved all his family. He loved every niece and nephew he had as if they were his own children.

Gregory enjoyed dancing, singing baritone, and being a member of the Midnight Rider Motorcycle club. In his younger years, he directed the choir at Beautiful Gate Baptist Church where the Moore children would sing. He played the point guard in basketball and ran cross country as a Class of 1969 Benton Harbor Tiger.  Shortly after, he joined the US Marine Corps where he became Sergeant with a tour in Vietnam. During his time of service, he worked in aviation, in the air control tower, as an air wing, a crew chief, and a helicopter door gunner.

He married Terry Morgan in 1978 and together they reared a son. After working government contracts, he decided to attend barber school to become self-employed. He enjoyed serving his long list of clients at Inez Barbershop in Saginaw.  Being a barber turned into his passion for more than 20 years.

He leaves to cherish many fond memories his stepson Darren Morgan of South Bend, IN, five sisters: Beverly Morgan and Renae Head both of Benton Harbor, MI, Janet Price of Charlotte, NC, Denise (Artery) Williams of Phoenix, AZ, and Marcie Moore of Memphis, TN.  His many brothers from The Brotherhood, including Ellis Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI, and James “Noone” Dossett, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA, and his very special friend, Vanessa Cooper of Saginaw, MI. His Uncle Joe Booth (97) and Aunt Pearl Booth (81) both of Benton Harbor, MI, his Aunt Margaret Braggs of Saginaw, MI along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
